Tuesday Tip: [3 Productivity Killers to Avoid]
3 Productivity-Killers to Avoid
For most Front Line Leaders, increasing productivity is the underlying goal for everything they do, day in and day out. With the constant pressure of being asked to do more with less it is important to identify and avoid possible productivity killers.
3 Productivity-Killers to Avoid
1) Company Culture Excuses. Sometimes rules, controls, policies and procedures are outdated and/or simply don’t apply to your current situation. The next time someone on your team says “that’s the way we’ve always done it” then reply with reassurance that change is necessary if we are to adopt more productive methods.
2) Communication Silos. Miscommunication causes confusion, which leads to poor productivity and defensive silos. Don’t leave it up to chance. Take a systematic approach to communication.
3) Lack of Direction. Without stated milestones employees simply can’t be expected to become motivated and engaged. Set some realistic and meaningful goals.
